Aura Editorial Standards
Aura Innovations exists to help women make calmer, more confident wellness decisions. Our educational content is designed to reduce confusion—not create fear, promise cures, or replace qualified care.
How we choose topics
We focus on questions women are actively asking about midlife health, wellness products, beauty, emerging technology, sleep, stress, and healthy aging. Priority is given to topics where marketing claims, cost, risk, or conflicting advice make clear guidance especially valuable.
How we research
We look first for primary research, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, government health information, and established medical or academic institutions. We distinguish preliminary findings from well-established evidence and link readers to the sources used.
How we write
- We use compassionate, plain language.
- We separate evidence from opinion and personal experience.
- We describe uncertainty and meaningful limitations.
- We avoid diagnosing readers or prescribing treatment.
- We do not use fear, shame, or exaggerated promises to drive purchases.
- We identify when professional evaluation may be appropriate.
Medical and safety boundaries
Aura provides general education and decision-support tools. Aura does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, or a substitute for a licensed healthcare professional who knows an individual’s history. Urgent or rapidly worsening symptoms require prompt professional attention.
Products, partnerships, and money
If Aura receives compensation, an affiliate commission, a free product, or another material benefit connected to content, we will disclose it clearly. Compensation does not change the standards used to evaluate evidence, benefits, limitations, safety, or value.
Corrections and updates
Health evidence changes. Time-sensitive articles display publication or review dates when appropriate. We update material when important new evidence, safety information, or guidance changes the practical meaning of an article. Material errors are corrected rather than quietly preserved.
Authorship
Aura’s founder, Connie Mulcahey-Albright, writes and oversees content from the perspective of a woman navigating the same confusing wellness landscape as Aura’s audience. Source-based health claims are attributed to the underlying research or institution. When qualified clinical review is used, that reviewer will be identified.
